Judge W. Dennis Duggan has been a Family Court Judge since 1994 and is designated by the Chief Administrative Judge of New York State as an Acting Justice of the Supreme Court. His unmatched record of legal scholarship and judicial leadership is recognized nationally and internationally. In 2007 and again in 2011, Judge Duggan was named “Family Court Judge of the Year” by the New York State Family Court Judges Association. He is the only two-time recipient of this award in the history of the New York State Family Courts.
Judge Duggan was born on the Seneca Indian Reservation in Salamanca, New York and has been a resident of the City of Albany since high school . He is a graduate of Notre Dame and Albany Law School and is a former Journeyman Structural Ironworker. Judge Duggan has been married for 33 years to Lennie Duggan and has two children, Brian (Rachel) and Katie as well as a new grandson, Callan Patrick Duggan.
